Gold Capped: Making money with jewelcrafting

Hey all, been wondering since i've taken a little break from the auction house since 5. I've made the vast majority of my money so far from glyphs. It's a good source of money on an RP server; people here buy six or seven times as many glyphs as enchant scrolls, possibly because they like leveling alts.

I've been making a few thousand a day from glyphs, and I haven't really seen my income decrease over the course of the expansion—in fact I made over 7,g from glyphs and shoulder enchants yesterday. Still, I know that eventually people may have all the MoP alts they want, so I've diversified into jewelcrafting. So far I'm just learning the recipes and selling the gems I get from research.

Later I'll start actually crafting gems deliberately and selling them. I'm not sure if selling uncut primal diamonds would be profitable, though.

Uncut primal diamonds have only one use—they can be made into cut primal diamonds. So if the demand for cut diamonds has gone down, the demand for uncut ones has to go down too.

Unless people want them primarily for leveling jewelcrafting, but I wouldn't expect that to start until the next expansion comes out.

The price of getting a legendary meta gem is 5 uncut primal diamonds.
